VPSA Oxygen Plant
When your oxygen demand passes the point where PSA skids stop making sense, vacuum does the regenerating

Skip to contentOn-site nitrogen in minutes, not in truck deliveries. The KYPN series runs 10 to 250 Nm³/h at purities from 95% up to 99.9995% - built, tested and shipped from our own factory in Kaifeng, China.

You compress air, you strip the oxygen out, and what flows out the other end is nitrogen you own outright. That's the whole idea - and it usually kills the liquid nitrogen truck invoice within the first year.
Ours is a pressure swing adsorption machine. Clean, dried compressed air enters one of two towers packed with carbon molecular sieve. Under pressure the sieve grabs oxygen and water vapor far faster than it grabs nitrogen, so nitrogen passes through and heads to your header. When the sieve in that tower fills up, the system drops it to atmospheric pressure. The oxygen releases, vents away, the sieve regenerates, and the second tower takes over. Valve switching runs on a PLC cycle you never have to babysit.
The word "swing" refers to that pressure swing - adsorb at high pressure, desorb at low. No chemicals, no consumables beyond filters, no cryogenic cold box. Just sieves, valves and controls doing the same job for roughly a decade.
Every set we ship groups into five blocks, and you can buy it as one skid or as separate pieces:
Ask for an analyzer, and we wire a residual-oxygen transmitter into the loop so purity is a number on your screen rather than a guess.
95% is plenty for blanketing a tank farm. 99.9% suits heat treatment. Electronics and laser cutting want 99.999% or better, and sometimes helium/neon specs too. You pick the purity; we spec the tower size, sieve charge and cycle time around it. The KYPN line spans that whole 95% to 99.9995% range across ten standard models - and custom flows beyond them.

Chemical and new-energy plants use the gas for blanketing, pipeline purging and lithium battery line protection. Food packers flush pouches and bottles. Metal mills run bright annealing and sintering furnaces on it. Mines inject it for fire control; tire makers mold with it. Labs, shipyards and electronics assembly lines order the smaller skids.
We are the factory: 100,000+ m² of workshops in Kaifeng, 600+ staff, 36 patents, A1/A2 pressure vessel licenses in hand. Two thousand-plus project cases across 20+ countries means the valve sizing questions were answered years ago on someone else's site, not on yours.
Compare against buying liquid nitrogen delivered by truck: PSA on-site gas typically runs at a fraction of the per-cubic-meter cost after the machine pays for itself, you're never stranded waiting on a delivery during a shutdown, and purity doesn't drift with whatever arrived in the last tanker.
One set is a full order - MOQ is 1 unit. To quote properly, send four numbers: flow (Nm³/h), purity (%), inlet pressure available, and where the gas goes. An engineer replies within 24 hours with a sized proposal and a datasheet, not a brochure.
Power is dominated by the air compressor. A rough rule of thumb for 99.9% purity service: expect the compressor to draw roughly 5.5–8 kW per 100 Nm³/h of product gas, depending on your purity target and inlet conditions. Spec the purity you actually need and the number drops fast - running 99.9995% when 99.9% would do is the classic wasted-power mistake.
Under normal conditions with proper upstream oil and water removal, ten years or more is a reasonable expectation. The sieve itself is boringly durable; the sieves we've had to replace early were almost always victims of an oil carryover event upstream. That's why the air treatment unit on our skids is not a cheap afterthought.
Yes, provided you spec the purity and dew point your machine tool needs - typical assist-gas service wants 99.999% or 99.9995% with a dryer downstream. Tell us the cutting machine model and pressure and we size the plant around that duty.
Membrane units separate gas through hollow fibers; they're compact and cheap but get wasteful above about 99% purity. PSA holds efficiency at high purity, which is why industrial buyers keep coming back to PSA once their purity requirement passes 99%. If your duty is 95–98%, a membrane set may genuinely be the smarter money - ask us and we'll price both.
The host comes skid-mounted with towers and valve manifold pre-piped. Depending on model and freight plan, the compressor, dryer and buffer tank ship on the same skid or as companion packages. Commissioning guides, wiring diagrams and remote start-up support go in the crate paperwork.
Standard machine warranty plus lifetime spare parts from the same factory that built your unit. We also offer maintenance agreements and material agreements that lock in parts pricing across the contract term - see our service page for scope details.
We ship KYPN sets into ten different duty cycles, and knowing which one you are in changes how we size your machine. Here is where they work every day:
When you send an inquiry, tell us the industry and the worst-case demand. That single sentence lets us shortcut three rounds of sizing emails.
Every KYPN order moves through the same six gates inside our Kaifeng plant, and you get the records at shipment:
Sets leave the gate with a wiring diagram, PLC program documentation, operation manual in English, and the test records above - the same documentation package your maintenance department will want on file.
Electricity is the whole story. The compressor and the dryer are essentially the entire electric load of a PSA nitrogen plant. Send us your flow, purity and local tariff and we will hand you the sized power draw and the year's operating number - compare it against your liquid nitrogen bill, and at three-shift duty the payback is frequently inside the first year.
Sieve life is the second question. With proper upstream oil and water removal, carbon molecular sieve holds performance for 8-10 years; the failures we are called about are almost always a saturated filter or a refrigerated dryer that was never serviced, not the sieve itself. The maintenance checklist we ship is four pages precisely because there are not many things to do.
A third detail people forget: turndown. A PSA unit stops on demand and restarts in minutes, so if your plant runs weekends-dark your electricity follows your production. Cryogenic supply never does that - storage tanks keep boiling whether you consume or not.
