Gas Solutions By Industry: Steel, Chemical, Medical, Food
Twenty years of air-separation deliveries have taught us what each industry actually asks a plant to do. Here is the honest mapping - duty first, equipment second.

Steel & Metallurgical
Oxygen enrichment, converter & EAF practice, annealing protection, laser assist gas
Steel is the industry our big plants were bred in. Converter oxygen follows the basic oxygen furnace rhythm; our gaseous ASUs run the ultra-low-pressure 0.43 MPa flow because a steel plant's electricity meter is the scoreboard that matters. Annealing lines - bell and continuous - run our exhaust-gas recovery systems to claw 50-85% of the nitrogen/hydrogen/argon blanket back instead of venting it, and laser-cutting shops take high-purity nitrogen skids straight to the header.

Chemical & Petrochemical
Inert blanketing, reactor purging, ultra-purity nitrogen at ≤2 ppm O₂, syngas duty
Chemical plants cannot tolerate an oxygen excursion - a catalyst campaign or a batch can ride on 10 ppm. That is why the cryogenic ultra-nitrogen line (KDN) chases the last two parts per million with a deep-purification train instead of a PSA polish bed, and why internal-compression ASUs deliver product at 8.5 MPa without a high-pressure oxygen compressor anywhere near your battery limits. Tank farms of our CFL vessels buffer liquid standby.

Medical & Hospital Oxygen
Pipeline oxygen with liquid standby, cylinder filling, manifold systems
A hospital oxygen plant is a reliability business: the manifold must never starve, so the standard shape here is a small cryogenic ASU (SKDO) making 99.5% pipeline oxygen plus a vacuum-insulated tank farm and a cylinder-filling bench as the reserve of reserve. For smaller clinics, welded insulated cylinders on a rotation schedule do the job without a plant. Where tanker logistics are the weak link - island and mountain sites - the ASU is what makes the oxygen supply sovereign.

Food, Beverage & Aquaculture
MAP packaging nitrogen, liquid nitrogen freezing & cold chain, aeration oxygen
Modified-atmosphere packaging buys shelf life with food-grade nitrogen; cryogenic IQF and cold-chain shipping buy it with liquid nitrogen at -196 °C. Both come from PSA skids plus a CFL tank, sized so food-grade air treatment is engineered in rather than bolted on. Aquaculture and wastewater sites take the oxygen side instead - VPSA or PSA machines feeding diffusers, where the PLC follows your dissolved-oxygen signal so aeration drinks power at the rate the pond actually needs.
